CANTONA RETURNS TO ENGLAND
Swansea City fans were stunned, surprised and elated this week when the club announced they had appointed Eric Cantona the former Manchester United legend as the club´s new manager. The legend was greeted by excited fans and board members at the Liberty Stadium, and the media were also surprised as Cantona has no real managerial experience and certainly not at the top level. The new manager was all smiles and seemed pleased to have have his first management role, he spoke briefly:- " I am pleased to be give a chance here at Swansea, and will do my best to bring success to the club. I learnt much from Sir Alex Ferguson and hope to apply that in my career."
The new manager has set about sorting the team, we understand he has drawn up a shortlist of players and spoken with the Chairman Huw Jenkins and been given the green light to sign players with a £76 million budget. The club have announced plans and started work on developing facilities at the Liberty Stadium, so the club can attract top players and develop youngsters from across Europe. Many will be eagerly awaiting to see what effect Cantona has on the club.

SWANS BOSS DEMANDS MORE
Swansea boss "Cantona" has demanded more from his players after Monday nights humiliating 5-1 defeat to Liverpool, the players were kept locked in the dressing room for an hour after the match with heated exchanges going on between players and manager at the result. Swansea were battling in relegation places when the gaffer took over then climbed their way into top four and challenging at the top and since then things have not been good with 3 defeats in their last 6 matches sliding the club down the league table. Some of players have lost faith the manager, and a real battle on at the club to get back to winning ways and move up the table, can the gaffer regain control of the dressing room. Llorente has criticised the manager for playing a lone striker and giving him no support in attack, the player has also hinted he may leave the club, several midfielders led by Wayne Routledge has also complained about formation and tactics.
The manager has a real battle on his hands to restore confidence, and support from his players, the fans seem still behind the manager and they are only 2 more points away from European places. Defeat tonight against Arsenal could be disastrous for the gaffer with current situation at the club, a win could calm things down and lift the club into the top four at Arsenal´s expense.

SWANSEA SECURE TOP FLIGHT STATUS
Swansea City fans were celebrating on Monday night after a good defensive performance saw the team beat league title challengers Leicester City 3-1 at the Kingpower Stadium to secure their top flight status. Many expected the Swans to be involved in the relegation fight but a good first half of the season and recent wins have secured their status and the club can build for next season. The team shut down Leicester on Monday night despite the Foxes having 60% possession, and goals from Llorente, an own goal and Alonso got the job done. Parolo had a good match in the midfield with his passing and assist, Llorente was busy in attack as always for a player of his quality and the fans were singing and chanting like they had won the league.
The manager "Cantona" was also seen celebrating with his players and coaching staff, the club will be looking now for his replacement as the manager has already notified the club he will be leaving once they were safe in the league. Many now speculate that he could leave the club this weekend, where will he go next, no one knows? But the Swans will now start work building for next season and making more progress in the league and with the Academy.

SWANS RETURN TO TRAINING
Swansea City have returned from a break and back on the training ground ahead of pre season friendlies, and the hardwork begins to improve on last season. Several players will be leaving the club and have not been given contracts with the following players set to leave the Liberty Stadium:-
K Nordfeldt K Naughton M Olsson Ashley Young L Narsingh T Carroll
A big surprise to everyone is departure of Ashley Young who joined the club midway through the season, and played well for the Swans but manager "Cantona" has deemed him not in the plans going forward. Fan will be happy that Golden Boot winner Fernando Llorente signed a contract although 6 clubs are currently chasing his signature and the Swans could still yet struggle to keep him.
The club have signed Jardel and A N Diaye from Liverpool and still in the market for several players as they get organised and ready for Pre Season friendlies and the new season.

SWANSEA REBUILDING PLANS
Swansea boss "Cantona" continued this week with his building plans, after signing A N Diaye and Jardel from Liverpool the gaffer continued spending by bringing in Arsenal midfield duo Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey. Both midfielders bring a wealth of experience from Arsenal and both play for their countries and should add some extra bite in to the Swans midfield and competition for places. Striker Danny Welbeck also signed from Arsenal and will battle with Goal Boot winner Fernando Llorente and fans were amazed this week when Wayne Rooney arrived at the Liberty Stadium in a £50 million deal from Everton. The Swans now possess a very potent strikeforce with Llorente, Rooney and Welbeck.
The club are currently chasing Goalkeeper Matthew Ryan, Brazilian defender Wendell and Dutch striker KJ Huntelaar and locked in a battle with several clubs to sign these players. Meanwhile, the club still have 6 players out of contract and are looking to offload these over the next few days and get the main squad ready for Pre Season friendlies.

SWANS FLYING
The new season now underway and Swansea City are flying at the top of the Skybet League One table with 2 wins from their opening matches, after the 3-0 win over West Ham with goals from Sigurdsson, Rooney and Welbeck. Fans are delighted with the team performances, as too is manager "Cantona" and the players with plans going well at the club, the objective is to qualify for European football this season. Signing Wayne Rooney has been a stroke of genius with Rooney scoring 3 goals in 3 games including pre season, he has also weighed in with 6 key passes, Danny Welbeck coming off the bench also has 3 goals in 3 games with Dutch striker Huntelaar settling in well but last seasons Golden Boot winner Fernando Llorent not really into his goalscoring as yet. The Swans boss has built a large talented squad and this is showing on the pitch with their passing football, the midfield looks very strong and lots of competition for places and defense is getting stronger.
Fans will be hoping the team can continue their good run going into Friday nights match with newly promoted Portsmouth, Llorente will be rested in attack so Welbeck is likely to start. Sigurdsson will be dropped from midfield and many choices to replace him, John Terry and Marco Alonso will be rested at the back and replaced by Jardel and Wendell.
