Leeds Gamble
Ex England manager Glen Hoddle has taken one of his biggest gambles in football, taking on the Leeds United vacant managers job with the club likely to be relegated from Skybet League Two. The club have struggled all season, previous manager Redsox last 10 games but could not lift the club, and they continue to sit bottom of the league with only 1 win in 16 league matches and things not looking promising at the club. The club has been neglected with poor facilities, owners who have not been seen at the club for most of the season, fans regularly staying away from Elland Road its a massive task to lift such a big club. Leeds used to be one of England´s big clubs have played in Europe and now face exiting the Skybet Football League.
In a statement, the new manager stated:- "I am pleased to be at such a famous old club and such a big club, I know chances of survival look bleak and its down to me to get the players believing they can win games. There are still 6 games to go and if we can win 4 out of 6 games I think we will be safe."
So the impossible task starts now for Hoddle, and he has until Friday to get the players ready for the relegation fight and to bring in new faces, all eyes are on Elland Road and the fans will be eager to see if Hoddle will have any effect on the club.

Survival Fixtures
New Leeds boss has been viewing the six remaining fixtures to save the club:-
Round 17: (A) Newcastle United Round 18: (A) Portsmouth Round 19: (H) Sheffield Wednesday Round 20: (A) Hull City Round 21: (H) Crystal Palace Round 22: (A) Brighton
So its tough with 4 of their last 6 matches away from Elland Road, and the next 3 matches all against clubs battling for promotion. We asked Glenn for his thoughts:-
"Its is going be tough with 4 away matches, I have been watching Newcastle United, they have a good manager in KMDrum and a strong squad but not big scorers. But i think we can get a result, away at Fratton Park will be difficult its a tough place to go but they are beatable. We will fancy our chances in the Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday. Then the last 3 games I feel are all winnable, so we need to pick up 4 points from matches against the big three to ensure our safety."
Fighting words and brave comments from the new boss, the form of Chris Wood and S Doukara will be key to success they need to be firing the goals, the manager needs to build quickly a strong midfield and everyone will be interested to see what formation and playing style the club adopt.

We are Leeds United, We are Leeds United
The travelling fans were chanting "We are Leeds United, We are Leeds United" last night away at St James´s Park, after new manager "Glenn Hoddle" led the club out for his first match and they battled to a 2-2 draw with high flying Newcastle. The manager set the team up to play Defensive and not risk too much and it almost paid off with Leeds going 2-0 inside the first 21 minutes through Chris Wood and A Mitrovic but the team could hold on and Newcastle battled back for the draw. But the manager was delighted at the final whistle and congratulating his players and staff with scenes as if they had won the cup, the draw could be so viatl come end of the season.
In the after match press conference, the manager stated:- "I am delighted with how the team played and a hard earned draw, I have set the boys a target of 3 wins from last 5 games and I think we will be safe."
Now its back to the training ground and working hard ready for next Friday away trip to League leaders Portsmouth, which again will be a tough match. The club welcomed new players, Sam Clucas from Hull City in a 10 million deal and Jack Cork in a 11 million deal from Swansea City, these two new midfielders will bolster the battling midfield and bring some experience.

SURVIVAL STARTS NOW
Leeds United are now in the fight of their lives to keep their League status, with just 5 matches remaining in the Skybet League Two season Friday night´s away trip to league leaders Portsmouth is massive. After drawing 2-2 with 2nd place Newcastle United morale is high, the manager "Glenn Hoddle" has demanded 3 wins from the 5 games should be enough to keep them up depending on results above them. So Friday night is the start, Chris Wood and S Doukara will lead the Mighty Whites attack, with new midfielders Arsenio and Jack Cork bringing their experience to the midfield, we understand the manager is toying with several formations with a 3-5-2 most likely to try and pack the midfield and shutdown Pompeys freescoring attack of Conor Chaplin and Alvaro Negredo. Leeds defenders will really need to step up and keep a tight ship if they are to pick up the three points towards survival and also dent Pompey´s promotion aspirations but all eyes are on Leeds United can they start to pull off a miraculous escape and build for next season?
Meanwhile Elland Road is recieving major investment and upgrades and many will be hoping its not all in vain, so Friday night could be a real nailbiting evening for the fans.

LEEDS FANS CHANTING "WE ARE STAYING UP, WE ARE STAYING UP"
Fans were in jubilant mood last night at Elland Road after Leeds United beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 to take the bragging rights in Yorkshire and dent Wednesday´s promotion chances. Leeds are now unbeaten in their last 3 matches with 2 wins and a draw from playing 3 of the top 4 clubs marking their progress under "Glenn Hoddle".
The manager was delighted with his team and the performance, in particular Jack Cork who was the best player on the night with a great allround midfield performance, Wood and Mitrovic were quiet in attack last night but the Leeds midfield did their job and got the result. Sam Clucas also had a good game with his key passing and at the back Berardi stood strong leading the way.
Fans are now very excited and feeling very positive that the club can beat relegation and build for next season, there is still work to be done. The club are now just 5 points from safety with 9 points available, the manager has stated that Leeds need to take things in their own hands and win all 3 remaining matches and hope that Huddersfield and Brighton drop points.
Leeds have Hull City (Away), Crystal Palace (Home) and the big final game of the season away at Brighton
Huddersfield Town have tougher run in, Portsmouth (Home), Sheffield Wednesday (Away) and Hull City (Away)
Brighton (Away) Crystal Palace, (Away) Coventry City and (Away) Hull City
So everything to play for and still some nailbiting times ahead in the last 3 matches, it would be a disaster if such a big
club like Leeds United do get relegated.

LEEDS FIGHT TO LAST MATCH
The season rides on Monday night match after Leeds United continued their amazing run and boost for survival after a hard fought 4-3 home victory over Crystal Palace last night. Chris Wood scored twice, midfield maestro Jack Cork scored and Mitrovic for the Leeds goals with Cork playing a typical fighting performance in midfield he was allover the pitch with his passing and tackling. Taylor and Cooper combined well in defense with key tackling to keep Palace at bay, Clucas and Wood were both busy as always and in the thick of the action.
At the final whistle you could see the relief on the fans, manager and club staff as another 3 points earned and moved the Mighty Whites off the foot of the table for the first time this season. Manager "Hoddle" stated in a press conference:- "That win was vital now its up to the boys on Monday to go out there and fight with pride for this club, if we win and Brighton lose we are safe. If both teams lose then it comes down to goal difference and we need to make up 3 goals, a draw for us could be enough."
The Leeds players have put so much hardwork and spirit over the last few weeks and now the club are on the verge of something remarkable if they can win on Monday and stay in the League.

LEEDS RELEGATED FROM THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE
So at the end of a poor disappointing season the inevitable happened, Leeds United were relegated from the Skybet Football League with a poor 0-0 draw at brighton and only creating 1 shot on goal in the match. The club have been on a great unbeatem 7 match run but at the end it was not quite enough and at the final whistle there were so many tears from the fans, the backroom staff and even manager "Glenn Hoddle" who really thought he would save the club and build for next season. The club have been bottom of the table most of the season and looked doomed until the manager came and started turning things around, but at the end of a troubling season the club have gone.
A big farewell to the league and fans will be at Elland Road tomorrow, as the manager leaves and now looks for a new job in football and the club drop out of league football.
